If you've never had oreo balls, you are so missing out. My awesome friend Katie shared these with us over the holidays. (She and her oreo balls have an open invitation in our home at any given time!) Let me tell you, they are so decadent! If you are even considering trying to make this into a lowfat recipe, forget it. You are so missing the point!
For this recipe, you will need:
1 pack of oreos (Not 2, one makes plenty!)
1 pack of vanilla Candiquik
1 (8-oz) block of cream cheese (softened)
cupcake wrappers (I ended up using big ones, not the little ones like in the picture, cuz of course I made my oreo balls like the size of tennis balls!)
This is so simple. Just dump the entire bag of oreos and the entire block of cream cheese into the food processor and mix it all up until you have a smooth, glossy, doughy glob of yummy-ness.
Next, roll into balls and place onto waxed paper. Pop into fridge for about an hour. Melt the Candiquik, and using toothpicks, dip the balls into the melted candy. (I colored half of it with green food coloring just for fun.) Add sprinkles if desired. Let cool at room temp. This ended up making about 40 for us, but it depends on how big you make them.
