New Cricut Project Idea: Sticky Note Holder...

This is a totally simply project even for a beginner.  I purchased several clear photo frames from the dollar store. You can either get the flat ones with the magnet on the back, or the free-standing ones.  I got the free-standing ones, as that is all my dollar store had in stock.  Then I bought sticky notes in assorted colors and black pens with the clear bottom.  The ribbon and cardstock were some I already had on hand.  Just cut the cardstock to fit. Mine are 5x7 inches.  Then choose a cute font on SCAL or one you have on a Cricut Cartridge.  I cut the monogram at 3 1/3 inches, and then shadowed it in a coordinating color.  You can't see it in the picture, but I also rolled up some cardstock and inserted into the barrel of the pen so it matches.  Just attach the pen with sticky-back velcro.  Instead of a bow, I chose to put a little brad in the center of the ribbon.  I attached the sticky notepad with "Terrifically Tacky Tape" which is that red roll of double-sided craft tape you can find at Michael's.  It's way stickier than monoadhesive, and you don't want your little sticky notepad to fall off.  You can find clear plastic bags to wrap them in at Michael's or also go here.  I am making these as end-of-the-year-gifts for teachers and ballet instructors.

What I got for free today...

Just thought I'd share some coupon finds for this week.  Today I hit Target and CVS, and here's what I got:

4 boxes Wheat Thins
4 boxes 100-calorie packs
1 Aussie shampoo
1 Aussie hair spray
2 Lady Speed Stick
3 Crystal Light single pack boxes
2 Wishbone salad dressing
1 pack Dial bar soap
2 Rimmell mascara
2 Cover Girl lip gloss
2 New York lip gloss

My Target total was around $15.00, but I filled a prescription today at CVS and used the Martin's giftcard offer that came in the mail (CVS takes competitor's coupons), and I still have $5 left on that, plus $12 in ECBs after purchasing these items that I can use next week.  Actually, there were a couple other items that would have been free but they were sold out. That's what happens when you wait until Thursday to shop the sales.  So, technically I made a couple of bucks altogether.  If you want to see how this all works, go to http://www.southernsavers.com/ and click on the Target and CVS weekly lists.  If you are still confused, email me and I'll explain in to you.  It's always fun to find someone else to be a coupon geek with me.  Hope everyone is having a great day!

Craft Room Redo...

After many years of having my craft supplies stashed all over the house, I decided to turn the guest room into a craft room.  It's nothing fancy, but at least everything is organized in one space, and if it gets messy I can just close the door!  Here are a few pics of my new space:

This pegboard was super easy. A nice lady at Home Depot helped me gather all my supplies.
A little paint, some hardware, and tada! The ribbon spools are hanging on a cheap curtain rod.
Can you spot my daughter's little ironing board? How cute is that?  My husband and son have big plans to turn the third floor into a "man cave" so this is our "girly room".

I tried to do all this on the cheap.  Can you believe I got this lamp and shade at Goodwill?

It's still not completely done. I have a few more things to do, but at least now everything is where I can find it!  I found these two tables on clearance for super cheap. I wanted a large work space where I could lay fabric and other projects out.  The old TV from the guest room is staying in here, so I can watch HGTV and lifetime to my heart's content while I work on stuff.  This will be nice, as I usually never seem to get to pick the channel! Thanks for looking, and if you can't find me, this is where I am :)

Friday's Stamp Camp...

On Friday, I attended a "Stamp Camp" at the workshop of a Stampin' Up rep I recently met.  These are some of the cute things we made at camp.  We had a lot of fun creating these cards.  She has an amazing workshop. I am so jealous!

Thursday's Teacher Gift...

Instead of using a gift bag, this little coffee mug is so easy to make using the box and curlz fonts on Sure Cuts a Lot and cutting on the Cricut, or as my husband calls it, the "bedazzler."  This is our class's Thursday gift to the teacher.  It was the perfect size to hold a small candle.  The patterned cardstock is from the K & Company Greenhouse stack.

Goodies for our resource teachers...

As Teacher Appreciation Week goes by, we couldn't forget our resource teachers who do so much for our little ones!  These are so easy to make using the box font and SCAL.  Just choose some a pretty 12 x 12 cardstock and coordinating colors for the letters.  I wish I had thought to use the shadow feature on the letters for all of them (like the pink/brown one), because I think it makes the letters pop, but now I know for next time.  Just fill these with some candy, and you've got some super simple gifts.  The link to the box font is http://www.scentials.com/Boxes.htm

Some goodies for Teacher Appreciation Week...

Our teachers do so much, and this is their official week to be recognized!  We are planning to do a little something each day of the week for them.  I found this cute little frog and thought how adorable he would look in pink and green.  These little pails are made of foam and were only $1 at Ben Franklin. Click here to get this cute little froggie cut file for free and then cut him out with the Cricut!
Punch: Threading Water from Fiskars
Paper: Reflections Essentials
Stamp: Studio G clear stamps
